Tapping Into the Power of Chakras

It's not usually a topic that comes up every day. "How are your #chakras?" just isn't part of our conversations. But I'd love to ask you to take a moment and consider what chakras are, how they impact our lives, and why focusing on their condition can be so important to your well-being.


What is a chakra? The term means "energy centers"; there are seven throughout your body that serve to regulate your physical health (organ function, immune system) and emotional wellness. Dating back to early Hindu and Vedic traditions, the term originally meant "wheel", as the chakras are perceived to be spinning wheels of colored energy.


The seven chakras are:

  • Root (1st) — Base of the spine; red; governs survival instincts, grounding.

  • Sacral (2nd) — Lower abdomen; orange; governs sexuality, intuition, self-worth/-esteem.

  • Solar Plexus (3rd) — Upper abdomen; yellow; governs impulse control, ego.

  • Heart (4th) — Center of the chest; green; governs compassion, spirituality.

  • Throat (5th) — Throat; blue; governs communication, emotion.

  • Third Eye (6th) — Between the eyes; purple; governs rationality, wisdom, imagination.

  • Crown (7th) — Top of the head; indigo; governs connection with the Divine.


When our chakras are not functioning properly, it can mean they're blocked. This happens when energy cannot flow through each point. When this happens it can negatively impact your physical and psychological health.


But how can you know you have blockages in your chakras, and what are you supposed to do to fix it?


Working with customers who are seeing their #aura for the first time, I tend to discuss chakras since my bio-feedback system also analyzes their condition and reveals areas of imbalance or overstimulation. Meditation, energy therapy, yoga, acupuncture - all of these can serve to unblock and restore your chakras to their ideal, balanced state.
